NEW DELHI, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Serial blasts rocked Indian northeast state Assam Thursday, killing 26 people and injuring over 100, police said.
Several of the blasts targeted Assam's major city Guwahati's busy market areas. At least 11 blasts happened one after the other in different districts of Assam, according to the NDTV.
Many injured were said to be in critical conditions.
Thick black smoke billowed into the sky in blasts in Guwahati as rescue workers rushed in to control the flames, the NDTV report showed.
